Statement of Intent - Magazine NEA

I am most drawn to the Magazine NEA because I am interested in journalism, media and photo editing. I like the idea of taking my own front cover pictures and editing them using Photoshop and making the magazine layout in InDesign - as these skills would be useful in a career involving media. I am also looking forward to creating my own film plot for context behind the magazine as the options are very broad and exciting, and it allows for a lot of creativity and original ideas. Making the contents pages for the magazine would also involve skills such as writing, proof reading and editing - which are valuable skills to practise for a career in journalism. I would enjoy practising my photography skills and taking pictures of models for my magazine, thinking about the effects of the lighting, colour and intertextuality used and their effect on the audience's reception of the photo. I am looking forward to researching, planning for and carrying out the production of my Magazine NEA this summer.
